By Jennifer Hinds, OTR and Director of Rehab Services
With over 11 years experience as an Occupational Therapist, "Edie" has been a valued Kindred employee for more than 10 years. Currently, Edith has gone back to school for her PhD in Family Studies at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. She plans to open a family service center called the "HERO Center" (Healing, Education, Relationships and Opportunity) in the future. The goal of the center is to provide family counseling, financial planning, therapy, parent/family education, and daycare.

On Feb. 8-9, Edie will be a presenter at a conference about "Strengthening Families" sponsored by the University of North Texas Education Department, and will conduct an interactive workshop entitled, "A Family Centered Approach to Stress Management" as part of the 15th Annual Conference on Parent Education.

Additionally, Edie will be teaching an undergraduate level course at Texas Woman’s University this spring on family development. Those who live in the area and are seeking a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy might be interested to know that the university now offers a bridge program from Family Studies to Occupational Therapy.

Congratulations, Edie. You are truly an extraordinary person. We wish you luck in all your endeavors.
